Pat Wygant is officially retired as of today. We truly wish her all our best. Luana Ellis has been hired as a long-term sub to cover the Wellsville Middle and High Schools. Welcome back to CASLS, Lu.
Michelle LaVoie is no longer at Salamanca. She is officially in her new position at Fillmore.
Bonnie Coppersmith is now covering the Prospect and Seneca Elementary libraries. Kristine Macchioni is taking care of the Salamanca Middle and High School libraries.

Two graduating high school students will be selected to represent New York at the all-expenses paid honors program which will be held from June 30 throughJuly 24, 2011. Attention New York State Earth Science Teachers! An opportunity for Regents Earth Science Teachers who would like to be part of a NASA grant funded program in conjunction with Buffalo State College/University of Wisconsin, Madison/Kentucky State University that will provide teachers with web-based resources. The topic of concern is revolution/rotation and all products are in alignment with the New York State Regents curriculum and exam. Participants would attend an all expensed paid summer training session at Buffalo State College from July 11-13, 2011 and work with a team of scientists and specialists to gain insight and meaning that will facilitate new instructional strategies. Specifically, the goals of the program are to: * Create an interface between cutting edge science research and the classroom * Increase understandings of the complex nature of Earth Systems * Assist New York State Earth Science Teachers to identify student misconceptions about what is typically called, "Earth Motions” * Provide web based pedagogical resources to address misconceptions and/or to clarify through a data driven philosophy, abstract energy systems that form the basis of Earth Motions understandings * Assess student performance on an item-by-item basis on Regents exams through a process of evaluation that will provide teachers specific feedback and strategies for future application (Earth Motions Items) * Approach and train through a learning progressions model Applications are now being accepted and are due by March 1, 2011. Now, instead of searchingfor each individual title, all you have to do is click on the “Book Trailers for All” link on Titlewave, under “Essentials” and you will be given a list of the books. If you’ve submitted your collection for analysis, then youwill be able to see with one click which books you already have and which ones you need to order. *The new trailers in this update include:*
